Description
A text adventure. From a deserted gas station in the desert, travel by saying GOZER to an adobe house, then get past the evil spirit, the timber wolf and the flooded burial ground to bring the glowing diamond, the red ruby and the Dutchman's nugget back to the gas station. Each place has a picture, and you walk by pushing the stick north, south, east or west. Commands such as LOOK, TAKE, DIG, SHOOT, TURN, BLOW and SAY come from a list, followed by the things here or carried. The dangers are real: the spirit takes your breath if you linger, the wolf attacks on the staircase, the dark kills without a burning torch, and the flooded river bed drowns the slow. Drop all three treasures at the gas station to win.
Controls: Either joystick. Push the stick north, south, east or west to walk, a fresh push for each step. The left button opens the command list: the stick chooses, the left button takes it and the right button closes the list; a command that needs a thing then lists what is here, carried or in view. A button turns a MORE page.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 54, June 1988, page 39: original Commodore 64 program by Cleveland M. Blakemore. Printed as the example program of Part I of the author's column "Programming Your Own Text Games"; written for all 40-column Commodore computers (C-64, C-128, Plus/4). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
