Description
A light-aircraft flight simulator played as a tournament of three flights. A windscreen view sits above a panel of gauges, lamps and switches. Open the throttle on the runway, lower the flaps and pull up past 60 to take off, then fly, land and roll to a stop. To land you need gear down, flaps up, a gentle nose and low speed. The miles of a flight are banked only when the aircraft stops safely; a crash ends the tournament with the miles banked so far. Crashes come from stalls, hard turns, a dive into the ground, an engine overstrained at high altitude, empty fuel tanks or a mid-air collision with traffic above 5,000 feet. The engine slowly loses power, and a weather report gives the cloud layer. The session's best is kept.
Controls: Use either controller. Stick up and down works the elevator; left and right work the rudder. Hold the left button and push up or down to set the throttle. The right button moves the switch cursor (FLAP, GEAR, TANK, MIX, FILL, WX); tap the left button with the stick centred to work that switch. On the title, up and down choose and a button confirms.
