Description

A whodunit for one to six detectives. Someone in Mycroft Mews has been murdered. Each turn a detective walks to one of the sixteen buildings in the lane sees who and what is there, and does one thing: search, interrogate a suspect with three questions, take, drop or hide an item, read the coroner's report at the morgue, examine records at the law office, clinic or bank, read the victim's papers, or fingerprint an item. Twelve suspects wander the Mews between turns, and they tell the truth only most of the time; the murderer always denies the weapon. To win, accuse at the police station with the right victim, murderer, weapon and motive. A wrong accusation puts that detective out of the game. Playing alone, you get a rating for how quickly you solve the case.

Controls: On the map, the stick walks to the next building and a side button goes in. In menus, up and down choose and a button picks; when interrogating, the last line switches between asking about suspects and about items. With two or more detectives, the game asks you to pass the controller before each turn. Either controller works.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 22, October 1985, page 29: original Commodore 64 program by John R. Prager. Published in the magazine as "Mystery at Mycroft Mews". This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
