Description

A murder mystery. One of ten guests and staff has been killed somewhere in the fourteen rooms of the manor, and the murderer has fled with the weapon. Walk your detective from room to room through the doorways, search each room, take and drop what you find, and keep notes. You must name the victim, the murderer, who is the one suspect you never find, the weapon, which is the one weapon you never find, and the room where the body lies. The eight room keys all wait in the Pantry, and a skeleton key is hidden in the outer rooms. You can carry only one thing at a time. A NOTES page ticks off every suspect and weapon seen so far. When you accuse, the police arrive with a siren. One wrong accusation and you are off the case.

Controls: Use the joystick and side buttons. In a room, move the cursor over LEAVE, SEARCH, TAKE / DROP, NOTES and ACCUSE and press a button to choose. To leave, push towards a door. When taking, left and right pick the item, the left button takes it and the right button cancels. When accusing, up and down pick the line, left and right pick the name, and a button on ACCUSE! makes the arrest.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, September 1984: original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
