Pegs

The classic peg solitaire on a triangle of 15 holes, lettered A to O. Every hole holds a gold peg except A at the top. A peg jumps a neighbour along a line of the triangle into an empty hole, and the jumped peg comes off. Each jump scores a point. The game ends when no jump is left, and 13 points, with one peg remaining, wins. Any jump can be taken back, one at a time, all the way to the start, even from the GAME OVER prompt. An illegal move is refused with a buzz. The title keeps the best score.

Controls: Use either controller. The stick moves the cursor from hole to hole; the left button picks a peg and then drops it on the hole to jump to, and the right button takes back a jump.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, December 1986 (Issue 42): original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
