Description
A top-down rally on a walled course. Each player's window scrolls with the car. Leave the start line, drive down to the yellow half-lap line at the bottom of the course, and come back over the checkered start and finish line. Turn left or right and shift up and down through six gears; hitting a wall stops the car dead. Two players race at once on a split screen, a blue car and a white car that never collide, and the first home wins. One player races the clock. The fastest time on each track is kept until power-off. There are four built-in tracks, including Scott Elder's original, and a track editor for building a custom course.
Controls: Use the joysticks. Push left or right to turn, up to shift up and down to shift down; gear 0 brakes. On the title, up and down choose, left and right change the track, and a button starts. In the editor, the stick moves, the left button toggles road or wall, and the right button finishes.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, November 1988: original Commodore 64 program by Scott Elder. Also on the Best of 1988 disk with its article. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
