Description
A Breakout-style game from an all-machine-language IBM listing. Five rows of bricks pay 1 point at the bottom up to 5 at the top, and you have eight balls. The paddle moves slower than the ball, so you have to anticipate its path, and where the ball strikes the paddle sets its angle. It speeds up after set numbers of hits and on reaching the upper rows, and a new wall follows each one cleared.
Controls: Left and right move the paddle; the left button serves and the right pauses.
ColecoVision version credited in the ROM to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagining built on the article, not a line-by-line port. From COMPUTE! magazine, February 1985, pages 123-125: original program by Chris Metcalf and Marc Sugiyama. Published for IBM PC/PCjr. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
