Description
An educational matching activity for young children. A shape appears on the left, and four shapes sit in boxes on the right. Move the pointer to the box with the matching shape and press the button. A right match brings YES! THAT'S RIGHT! and a new round. A wrong pick turns that shape grey and lets the child try again. Six shapes are used: a red square, a purple plus, a black right triangle, a blue pyramid, a green circle and a yellow star, and each round shuffles four of them into the boxes. A game is ten rounds. A match on the first try earns a gold star and a later one a grey star. From round 6, all shapes are drawn in one colour, so only the shape can be matched. Eight gold stars wins SHAPE MASTER!
Controls: Use either controller. The joystick moves the pointer from box to box and a side button picks; a button starts from the title and goes on after each round.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, June 1984: original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). One BASIC listing for the Commodore 64 and VIC-20. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
