Description

A collection of four logic puzzles about placing eight sticks, shown as matches standing in holes on a black board. LINEARSTIX: swap four red and four blue matches along a row of nine holes, moving only forward by a step or a jump. TRISTIXULAR: jump matches over one another in a triangle of ten holes, removing each one jumped, until only one is left. INTERSTIXTION: march four colour pairs to the far ends of a cross of holes, taking turns, where a colour that cannot move when its turn comes loses. TRANSTIXION: choose lines of matches to cycle their colours until all eight are red. A move counter keeps your best for each puzzle, and any puzzle can be started over at any time.

Controls: Joystick only, either controller. LINEARSTIX: left and right move the pointer and the left button moves the match. TRISTIXULAR: the stick moves the pointer, the left button picks a match and then makes it jump to an empty hole. INTERSTIXTION: the stick chooses between the two matches whose turn it is and the left button moves it. TRANSTIXION: the stick chooses a line and the left button changes its colours. The right button starts the puzzle over; held for a second and a half, it returns to the title.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 62, February 1989: original Commodore 128 program (no author named in the issue). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
