SuperHeroAtari 2600 Port

The bridge is down, the city's crooks are loose, and only one hero can put it right.

SUPERHERO is a new DiRoccoVision adventure for the ColecoVision. You start in everyday clothes beside a phone booth. Step inside, and you fly out as the hero. Then you have work to do:

- Round up the gang: catch the villain and his five henchmen, and carry every one of them to the police jail.
- Rebuild the bridge: find its three pieces and lay them back in place.
- Watch out for the green crystals: they sap your power. Only the reporter can bring it back.
- Finish the job: walk back through the TRIBUNE's front door in your everyday clothes, and the city is safe.

It all happens against the clock across a 27-room city at dusk: streets, landmarks, a subway with four stations, and X-ray vision to look through the walls.

Two ways to play:

CLASSIC: the original 1979 rules. It was checked against the original Atari cartridge frame by frame, and it plays the same.

ENHANCED: the same adventure, rebuilt for the ColecoVision.
- Smooth motion.
- A jail that shows exactly who you have caught, each crook in his own colour.
- A bridge you can watch come back together, piece by piece.
- X-ray on its own button, and a hover on the other.
- A true clock with split times.
- Fairer rules where the original was rough.

In both modes:
- The city redrawn for the ColecoVision, with characters drawn side-on who walk.
- MAP + STATUS on keypad 0: the city as you have seen it, where you last saw each crook, and the bridge's progress.
- Sound: CLASSIC recreates the original's effects, and ENHANCED gets a new multi-voice set for the ColecoVision's sound chip.
- Optional speech with a Lundy speech module, which you can switch off on the menu.
- One player, or two with a joystick each, as in the original's teamwork mode.
- The reporter can come to you, or you can go and find her. Crooks move at normal or fast speed.
- * pauses the game.
