Description

Two tanks face off in a walled field of blockades and mines, and neither ever stops: each keeps rolling the way it last pointed until a block or the wall stops it. Steer in eight directions, squeezing diagonally between blocks, and fire shells that fly up to ten spaces. Driving into a mine or the other tank, or landing a shell on either, sets off a blast that wipes out everything around it, blocks, mines, tanks and even the wall; a gap in the wall lets tanks and shells wrap round to the other side. If both tanks are caught, both score. The field is redrawn every round, and the first to 5 wins. The skill level sets the blocks and mines, and the speed is slow, medium or fast. Play a friend or the computer.

Controls: Joystick only. The stick turns the tank in eight directions and it keeps rolling; either button fires a shell the way the tank points, and holding it fires again as soon as the last shell is spent. In a one-player game either joystick drives the blue tank; with two players joystick 1 drives blue and joystick 2 drives red.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, April 1984: original VIC-20 program by Ken Gibbons and Curtis Rich. The article itself was about wiring a second joystick to the VIC-20's user port; the game was its demonstration program. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
