The Anglers

The First Annual Great Lakes Fish Off: two anglers walk the bank of a lake, cast where small ripples show a fish, and reel it in. Push the stick forward to cast, and the line runs out for as long as you hold it; once you let go it can only come in. Pull back to reel, and a fish bites when the end of the line passes it on the way in. Each catch adds a tally mark, and the first angler to eight catches wins. On the title, three hazard slots each add another fish, a clump of seaweed or a speedboat. Seaweed on the line must be landed before anything else will bite, and a speedboat that runs over your line hauls you into the drink to swim back. Play a friend or a computer angler.

Controls: Joystick only. Push left or right to walk along the bank (only while the line is in), push forward to cast and pull back to reel in. With one player, either joystick plays the blue angler on the left and the computer fishes on the right; with two, joystick 1 plays the left angler and joystick 2 the right.
