Description

The old board game Alquerque in Halloween dress: twelve witches against twelve ghosts on a board of 5 by 5 points. Pieces step along the lines or jump an enemy, jumps are compulsory, and a piece that can jump again must carry on. Play ends when one side has no pieces left. The computer plays by the listing's own weighted-random method.

Controls: The stick moves the box; the left button picks a piece up and drops it.

ColecoVision version credited in the ROM to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagining built on the article, not a line-by-line port. From COMPUTE! magazine, October 1985, pages 42-58: original program by Brian Flynn; Commodore 64 and Atari by Kevin Mykytyn, VIC-20 and Apple by Kevin Martin, TI by Patrick Parrish. Published for IBM PC, Commodore 64, Atari, VIC-20, Apple, TI-99/4A. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
