Description
You speed through a trench in an earthquake fault toward evil King Krypos' lair. His kamikaze drone ships fly at you out of the far end of the trench, growing as they come, along with rolling debris. Steer your fighter left and right across the bottom of the trench and fire down its length, one shot at a time, or dodge out of the way. Each drone is worth 25 points and each rock 10, and clearing a wave earns a bonus. From level 2 some drones steer toward your lane, so standing still does not work. Every 250 points raises the level, with faster and more numerous drones. You start with three ships and earn one every 1000 points, up to seven. The waves never end; the game is over when your last ship is hit.
Controls: Use either controller. Push the stick left or right to steer the fighter and press either button to fire. On the title, push up and down to choose a starting level, HOW TO PLAY or CREDITS, and press a button.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, March 1984, page 52: original Commodore 64 program by Don Gibson. Combines the Commodore 64 listing with the level choice from the all-machine-language VIC-20 version. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
