Wizard of Im

Glowing orbs fall down the night sky of Im. As the wizard, you walk along the ground and fire magic sparks straight up to burst them, one spark at a time. An orb that falls on the wizard costs a life, and you have three. Orbs that reach the ground escape: from the second level on each one costs points, and every tenth escaped orb costs a life, shown as ten rings in the side panel. The orbs score more at every level, but they also fall faster and come more often, with the middle of the sky busiest. Reach the points target to climb to the next level. The game ends when the third life is lost, and the best score is kept.

Controls: The stick moves the wizard left and right, and either button fires a spark (hold it to keep firing). On the title, up and down choose and a button selects. Either controller works.

No. 19, July 1985, page 47: original Commodore 64 program by Bob Spirko. Published in the magazine as "The Wizard of Im". This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
