Description
A timed word-search game. Ten words, drawn at random from one of six themes, ANIMALS, FOOD, SPORTS, SPACE, OCEAN or COMPUTER, are hidden in a 10 x 10 grid of letters, running across, down or diagonally, forwards or backwards. They are asked for one at a time, longest first. Move the box to the word's first letter and mark it, then to its last letter and mark it again. Quick answers score more: within the skill level's time a word is worth 100 points, within twenty times that 10, and later less; the panel shows what the word is worth now. A wrong answer shows NO and marks the word's real place in red before the next word comes. Found words stay green. After ten words the game ends with your score.
Controls: Use either controller. The stick moves the box (diagonals too); the left button marks the first and last letter of the word and the right button lets go. On the setup page, push up and down to choose a line and left and right to change it.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, July 1983: original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). The disk copy was retyped by a reader around 1988. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
