Why an account at all

Reading the club needs nothing: every board, every record and every round is open, and the games are playable without signing in.

An account is only needed to put a score up or to comment on a game - a score has to belong to somebody or the board means nothing, and comments go into the SmartFORUM under your own name.

Registering sends you an email with an activation link - click it and you are in. Registration lives on the forum because that is where the checks are.
